Plotting Compass, 45mm Diameter, Brass Case, Each
Product Code : SCL-SLE-11400
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Quick answer: This item is listed as a plotting compass, 45 mm diameter, in a brass case, supplied singly. The description previously carried on this page described a compass for drawing circles, which does not match the product name, so the instrument type needs confirming with the supplier before ordering.
The product name and the description previously published on this page disagree with each other. The name describes a plotting compass, 45 mm in diameter, in a brass case. The description covered circle drawing, geometry plotting, technical drafting and the creation of technical diagrams, which describes a drafting compass. These are two different instruments: one is an indicating instrument read against a scale, the other a tool for stepping out and drawing arcs.
The drafting description has been removed rather than rewritten. This page publishes nothing that establishes which of the two instruments is actually supplied, and inventing the missing description would put specifications in front of buyers that the manufacturer has never stated.
What the listing does establish is the physical form: a 45 mm diameter instrument in a brass case, ordered as a single unit. Confirm the instrument type first, then the specification that follows from it, before ordering. Field-plotting and measuring apparatus is listed under Physics Lab Equipment and Meters.
Correction, 6 October 2026: the description previously shown on this page described a drafting compass for drawing circles, which is inconsistent with the product name. The incorrect text has been removed. No replacement description has been substituted, because this listing publishes no information establishing the instrument type.
